(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Agribusinesses in Wisconsin that are looking for ways to reduce energy consumption are being encouraged to apply for an Energy Innovation Grant.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin is accepting project applications for the program, which funds those innovative energy projects.
The agency is awarding up to $10 million in the spring of 2022. "Energy efficiency and innovation will be critical components to achieve our goal of carbon-free electricity consumption by 2050," says PSC Chairperson Rebecca Cameron Valcq.
"Investments in innovative energy projects will spur economic growth, create jobs, and provide all the benefits that come with cleaner energy and a resilient grid."
In the 2020 grant round, the PSC received over 100 applications requesting more than $24.4 million in funding. It funded 32 grants for a total of $7 million. Grants are available for Wisconsin manufacturers, municipalities, universities, schools, hospitals, nonprofits and like entities.
Applications are due on January 14.
