Black River Falls Fire Department Responds to Dryer Fire at Hotel

The Black River Falls Fire Department responded to a fire early Sunday morning in a laundry room of a hotel in Black River Falls.

According to the Department, just before 2am, they responded to a fire alarm at the Surestay Plus Hotel at 600 Oasis Road in Black River Falls. When crews arrived, the hotel was evacuating their guests.

A dryer had caught fire and the basement was filling with smoke. The Department used a water can to put out the fire. The damage was limited to the dryer and the wall and ceiling around the dryer. After the fire was out, guests were allowed back into the hotel. No one was hurt in the incident.
