Taylor County Authorities Release Name of Man Found Dead Sunday Morning

Taylor County authorities have released the name of the man who was found dead Sunday morning.

According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department, on Sunday around 6:08am, they received a report of a subject lying in the road, unresponsive, near the intersection of Elm Avenue and Hamm Drive in the Township of Holway.

Medical crews were dispatched, but 27-year-old Titus Kottke of Athens was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that Kottke had been at several bars that night and was last seen alive walking down the road at 3:30am Sunday morning.

An autopsy determined his injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the death and asks that you call 715-748-2200 if you have any information about Kottke or the vehicle that may have struck him.
