(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Wisconsin is home to another national FFA officer.
According to Wisconsin Ag Connection, Cortney Zimmerman, a 2020 graduate of Spencer High School, was elected as the new National FFA Central Region Vice President during the closing ceremony of the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis on Saturday.
She is the immediate-past vice president of the Wisconsin FFA. Zimmerman is currently attending South Dakota State University, majoring in agricultural communications.
She will spend the next year traveling more than 100,000 miles throughout the country leading agriculture students and engaging top leaders in business, government and education.
Her team will also help set policies that will shape the future of the FFA organization and promote agricultural literacy. Cortney is the eighth Wisconsin FFA member in history to be elected as a national officer and the first since Alicia Hodnik of the Big Foot FFA served as national vice president in 2011-12.
Meanwhile, more than a dozen local programs were recognized during the conference as three-star chapters including Granton. Granton was also named a premier finalist for the area of Growing Leaders.
