Granton School Board Approves 2021-22 Tax Levy at Annual Meeting

The Granton School Board discussed the 2021-22 District budget at their Annual Meeting.
Following the reading of the 2021-22 Financial Report by Board Member Paul Knoff, the board approved the report. District Administrator James Kuchta presented the 2021-22 Proposed Budget of $6,295,579.
The Board approved the adoption of the Tax Levy in the amount of $1,105,605 to operate the School District including $765,210 for General Fund 10, $310,395 for Fund 39 Debt Retirement and $30,000 for the Community Service Fund, Fund 80.
They also approved the adoption of a resolution to maintain current school board members salaries at the current level and adoption of a resolution authorizing to provide milk for grades 4K – 5 for a Daily Milk Break if a milk program is offered by the state.
They also approved the adoption of a resolution authorizing short-term borrowing for operation cash flow for the 2021-22 school year, not to exceed the limit set by the state. Finally, they approved the adoption of a resolution authorizing the Board of Education to sell school district property.
The facility update for the 2020-21 school year presented by School Board Member Dennis Kuehn. The District purchased a new van, did the installation of water bottle filling stations, and did the installation of new counter tops and touchless faucets in six (6) restrooms.
They also did the installation of eight (8) touchless faucets in other restrooms, did the installation of drain tile in back of the school by playground, repaired blacktop including cracks and they filled and seal coated the playground and parking lot.
Finally, they did the installation of new boiler above agriculture room, did the installation of new boiler for pool area, and did the installation of eleven (11) touchless urinal flushes in all boys restrooms.
