Wisconsin's Fall Wolf Hunt in Doubt
Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 -- 9:01 AM
(Terry Bell, WRN) There may not be a Grey Wolf hunt in Wisconsin this year.
A judge in Madison issued an order on Friday that halts the hunt until the lawsuits over it can be heard. The judge says the Department of Natural Resources broke the rules when it set a quota of 130 wolves for this year’s hunt.
Opponents have been fighting Wisconsin’s wolf hunt since it was first scheduled late last year. This year’s hunt is supposed to begin in about three weeks. Hunter groups are expected to appeal Friday’s order.
