(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Wisconsin's unemployment rate remains at 3 point 9 percent for the sixth straight month, despite the removal of enhanced unemployment benefits.
Republicans and the state's business lobby had pointed to those benefits as a reason why business owners have been unable to find workers, but labor experts have said there's more to it than just benefits.
Wisconsin's workforce has been aging into retirement and many people left the service and retail sectors for other jobs during the pandemic. There's also been lower than average migration and immigration to help shore up employment.
