Wisconsin's Standardized Test Scores are Down

(Terry Bell, WRN) Wisconsin’s latest standardized test scores are down.
The Department of Public Instruction says students did worse in reading, math, science, and social studies in last year’s tests. Reading and math proficiency are down to 39-percent, social studies scores dropped to 49-percent, and science proficiency at 52 percent.
There’s one big flaw in the numbers, and that’s far fewer students took the tests last year than in previous years. 13-percent of students opted out statewide. In Milwaukee and Madison, only about half of eligible students took the tests.
