Conditions Improving for Refugees at Fort McCoy
Wednesday, October 20th, 2021 -- 8:01 AM
(Terry Bell, WRN) Afghan refugees living at Fort McCoy say things have gotten better, but there are still problems.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quotes one refugee who says there still aren’t enough clothes, or places to wash clothes. The person quoted also says you can sometimes wait for hours for meals.
Fort McCoy officials acknowledged problems initially, but have said they’ve made improvement. More than 12-thousand refugees are waiting to be released from the military base to start their new lives somewhere in the United States.
