STATE ASSEMBLY TO TAKE UP CONCEAL CARRY OVERRIDE
Monday, January 30th, 2006 -- 11:35 AM
The state assembly is expected Tuesday to take up a concealed carry veto override.Supporters of a bill allowing people to carry concealed guns and other weapons argue the state Supreme Court may establish that right, even if the governor's veto stands.
Republican Scott Gunderson cites a 2003 case in which the court ruled a Milwaukee man had a right to keep a weapon at his business. Gunderson says the state's high court urged legislators to enact a law that would allow those who need to carry a concealed weapon to be able to do so.
