(Terry Bell, WRN) It’s time again for deer to be active on Wisconsin roads.

It’s important to know what to do if you hit one. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says to get your vehicle safely off the road if possible, and call law enforcement.

It’s safest to stay in your car with your seat belt on, walking on a highway is always dangerous. The D-O-T says don’t try to move an injured deer. Nine people died in Wisconsin deer crashes in 2019, and more than 550 people were injured.
