UW-Madison Receives Funds to Help Fight Social Media Lies

(Terry Bell, WRN) UW-Madison is getting three-quarters of a million-dollars from the National Science Foundation, to fight social media lies.

Professor Mike Wagner will study the best way to promote fact-checkers and fight misinformation.

Wagner plans to buy advertisements on Twitter and Facebook, and see which is the best way to counter untruths.
