Madison Professor Suggests Changing Passwords for Streaming Site Twitch Due to Breach

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Hackers have released a massive package of passwords and source codes from Amazon's streaming website Twitch.
Madison College information security professor Mike Masino says the hackers managed to heist a surprising amount of back-end data from Amazon, and released it all on the internet.
"The Twitch one looks to be just kind of an online hack where they just stole source code, steal data, do whatever they could to kind of damage on to that company."
Masino says the bulk of the leak seems to be confidential company data like how the site works and who's getting paid. "The attackers had some beef with the company and how they're doing things and kind of wanted to do some damage to this company."
Masino says the bulk of the leak seems to be confidential company data, like how Twitch and its apps work on their end. "That's out there that allows other hackers to disassemble and in reverse-engineer that source code and figure out how to attack all of those products."
Masino says this is probably a good time to update your Twitch and Amazon passwords, and activate two-factor authentication for your accounts.
