Wisconsin DNR Releases Official Quota for November Wolf Hunt
Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 -- 8:02 AM
(Raymond Neupert, WRN) The Department of Natural Resources has released its official quota for the November wolf hunt, and it's smaller than requested by the Natural Resources Board.
The official quota for the Fall 2021 hunt has been set at 130 wolves. That puts the total requested harvest to 74, thanks to a portion of that quota going to the state's Ojibwa tribes. The DNR will be issuing a total of 370 permits for the hunt.
The Natural Resources Board voted for a quota of 300 wolves in August. DNR officials declined to comment on the quota because of pending legal issues.
