Conservation Groups and Kohler Spar Over Proposed Land Swap
Monday, October 4th, 2021 -- 9:08 AM
(Raymon Neupert, WRN) A conservation group and Kohler were in front of the State Supreme Court last week over a proposed land swap for a golf course.
The Friends of the Black River Forest say that a land swap between the Kohler Company and the DNR for property near Kohler-Andrae State Park will harm the public's use of the land.
The case dates back to 2014, when the DNR agreed to swap that land for 10 acres of property from Kohler. Kohler and lawyers from the DNR argue that the swap itself hasn't caused any harm, so there's no reason to challenge it.
The Friends say the harm will come when that property is developed by Kohler for the new golf course.
