The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced a design project website is now available to view proposed improvements on WIS 73 in Clark, Taylor and Rusk counties.
The website details three separate projects on WIS 73 between the city of Thorp and village of Ingram. Construction is tentatively expected in 2024, 2025 and 2028. The public is invited to review the proposed improvements scope, schedule and traffic impacts on the website and provide comment.
The project design website is available at the following URL: https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/projects/by-region/nw/73projects3ws/default.aspx. The purpose of the projects is to improve the deteriorating pavement, railroad crossings and drainage structures on WIS 73, extend the roadway’s service life, and upgrade beam guard to meet current safety standards.
Proposed improvements include mill and overlay, railroad crossing replacement, structure replacement, culvert repair, beam guard upgrades and miscellaneous items.
In Clark County, the work will occur on 73 from Park Street in Thorp to WIS 64 East in Roosevelt, which will be an 11 mile work zone. Traffic impacts considered are flagging operations, lane closures, and short-term detours for structure/railroad work.
The website includes maps of the three projects limits/locations, proposed scope and schedule, possible traffic impacts, design displays and exhibits, business information, downloadable handouts and various methods for the public to provide comment.
