YouTube Banning All Anti-Vaccine Content From its Platform

(Bob Hague, WRN) YouTube is banning all anti-vaccine content in its platform.
And Madison College professor Steve Noll applauds the move. “We’re in a public health crisis, and a lot of these anti-vaxxers, you have to remember they have an ulterior motive of spreading misinformation.”
Noll says many posting misinformation are “snake oil salesman” pitching products. He says this action is preferable to government censorship. “So the more these companies can self-regulate, the better it is for everybody, especially the people who are being ethical and using these platforms for good.”
Noll applauds the move to restrict purveyors of misinformation looking to make a buck. “To me this is the classic old snake oil salesman scenario. And I worry that there’s a lot of people out there who are seeing this concern about the vaccines to make some quick cash at the expense of the public health.”
Noll applauds the news that YouTube is banning all anti-vaccine content. He says that’s preferable to government regulation. “To me as much as these snake oil salesmen not only should be kicked off YouTube but probably prosecuted for fraud is overall a more terrifying long-term issue.”
A new set of policies aimed at reducing anti-vaccine content on the Google-owned site will ban any videos that claim that commonly used vaccines approved by health authorities are ineffective or dangerous.
