Wisconsin DHS Supports CDC's Recommendation Regarding COVID Booster Shots

(Bob Hague, WRN) The Wisconsin Department of Health Services supports the CDC's recommendation regarding COVID-19 booster shots.
The CDC said adults 65 and older, those in long-term care facilities and those aged 50-64 with underlying health conditions should get the additional vaccine dose at least six months after their initial vaccine series.
DHS Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake said "booster doses are another tool to stop the spread of the highly transmissible Delta variant." Those who got the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine will likely need a booster shot in the near future.
More data on the effectiveness and safety of Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster shots are expected soon. To find a COVID-19 vaccine provider in your community, visit vaccines-dot-gov.
