Mental Health Counseling Services in High Demand on UW Campuses
Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 -- 8:10 AM
(Bob Hague, WRN) Mental health counseling services are in high demand on UW campuses.
More than 80 percent of UW System students who sought mental health counseling during the last academic year reported improvements in their well-being, and four of five who considered dropping out over the last eight years said counseling helped them stay enrolled.
The latest Counseling Impact Assessment Report shows the continued need for mental health services on UW campuses, and also underscores the challenges, including generally rising demand, providing services remotely, and inequities among universities.
