Colby School District Now Requiring Masks for Students in the Classroom
Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 -- 1:00 PM
The Colby School District is now requiring masks for students in the classroom.
At the Colby School Board meeting, the Board approved requiring masks for all students and staff while they are in the classroom beginning Monday, September 27th.
The purpose is to reduce close contacts and keep as many students in the classroom as possible. Students and staff do not have to wear masks if they are outside or in a setting that allows for 6 feet of social distancing.
The Board also approved options for shortened quarantines. Students only have to quarantine for seven days with a negative test and no symptoms. They only have to quarantine for 10 days if they have no symptoms.
The Board will continue to monitor the situation and make changes if/when necessary.
