Bill Proposal to Eliminate Personal Property Tax in Wisconsin

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Governor Tony Evers and two Democrat lawmakers are sponsoring a bill that would eliminate the personal property tax in Wisconsin.
Senator Brad Pfaff of Onalaska and Representative Robyn Vining of Wauwatosa say their proposal would greatly assist local businesses while holding municipalities harmless.
The bill would peel back the array of various taxes paid for on things like equipment and vehicles for businesses. Some of that money goes to local governments, so the bill would also increase state aid to municipalities to make up for the difference.
Republican Senator Duey Strobel is already out against the bill saying Democrats should have accepted a similar bill that Republicans passed earlier this year but was vetoed.
