Wisconsin Rapids Officer Attacked by Pit Bull

A Wisconsin Rapids Police Officer was attacked by a pit bull this past weekend.

According to the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, the officer was checking on the status of a runaway at a home on Shady Lane around 11:45am Saturday morning. The dog charged out of the home and attacked the officer three times. The officer eventually fired his weapon to chase the dog away.

The officer was taken to the hospital for his injuries and the dog was taken to the vet for medical testing.
