Brockway Woman Being Held on Suspicion of Homicide

A Brockway woman is being held on suspicion of homicide.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, last Thursday, September 9th, they received a report of a man, 53-year-old Thomas Boetcher, needing emergency medical attention.

First responders attempted life-saving measures. Boetcher was flown to Marshfield Hospital where he later died. Another woman, 52-year-old Kellie Schmidt, was taken to the hospital for medical attention as well.

After an investigation, it was determined that Boetcher and Schmidt lived with one another. The investigation and an autopsy on Boetcher determined that Schmidt should be taken into custody. Schmidt is facing a charge of 1st degree intentional homicide. She’s currently in the Jackson County Jail.
