NEILLSVILLE BOARD HEARS FROM PUBLIC ON CONSOLIDATION
Tuesday, January 10th, 2006 -- 11:45 AM
The Neillsville School Board listened last night, as the public voiced their opinions on a couple issues concerning the district?s future. Billed as a ?public forum?, dozens of area residents attended the meeting. The board took comments on the future of the district and whether the board should enter into a consolidation feasibility study with the Greenwood board.
While few residents addressed the study directly, those that did thought it was unnecessary. Most seemed in favor of the concept of consolidation ? or at least the concept that Neillsville, Loyal, Granton and Greenwood should explore a future merger.
For his part, School Board President Walter Wetzel said he didn?t think Neillsville should spend the $20,000 such a study could cost.
