The charges against a Marshfield man, who was arrested after causing a disturbance at a home, were dismissed on Friday.
According to the Marshfield Police Department, back in November of 2018, they responded to a home on South Vine Street. An intoxicated man, Kurtis Wegner, said someone had stolen a gun from him.
However, police determined a handgun had been confiscated from Wegner because he was distraught. Wegner barricaded himself in a back bedroom.
The apartment, as well as nearby apartments and a nursing home, was evacuated. After 30 minutes of negotiations, police convinced Wegner to turn himself in. During his court appearance on Friday, both charges against Wegner were dismissed on the prosecutor’s motion.
