Marshfield Clinic's National Children's Center for Rural and Ag Health and Safety Offering Grants

Monday, September 13th, 2021 -- 8:01 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) The National Children's Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety at Marshfield Clinic is offering grants of up to $25,000 each to support small-scale projects and pilot studies that address emerging issues related to the impact of COVID-19, and/or other emerging issues related to the prevention of childhood agricultural disease and injury.

According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, program coordinators say funding priority will be given to projects that address issues pertaining to barriers, motivators and interventions for keeping young children out of the farm worksite.

"The pandemic has left an indelible mark on our society and continues to affect our lives, and agriculture is not an exception," said NCC Director Barbara Lee, Ph.D.

"However, the impacts of the pandemic are likely unique in how they affect youth living and working on farms as well as the children of farmers and farmworkers."

Information on eligibility, priority topics and the application process is available by calling 800-662-6900. The deadline for letters of intent is October 1, with application due no later than November 1.
