Former Eau Claire Man Reaches Plea Deal for Sexual Assault of a Child

A former Eau Claire man has reached a plea deal for sexual assault of a child.

According to court records, a young boy told authorities that Tylar Hofmann, who now lives in Marshfield, touched his private parts back in December of 2019. Hofmann told authorities that didn’t happen, but after a polygraph test, he later admitted to authorities that the incident did occur.

Hofmann pleaded guilty to first degree child sexual assault, but the charge will be reduced if he does six weeks of community service and receives a sex offender assessment.
