One Man Killed in Deer vs Motorcycle Crash in Wood County

One man was killed in a deer vs motorcycle crash in the Town of Saratoga in Wood County.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred around 6pm Saturday afternoon on Highway 73 to the west of 80th Street.  Four motorcycles were traveling south on 73 when a deer entered the road.

The operator of one of the motorcycles, 70-year-old Richard Rubel from Columbus was unable to avoid the animal and crashed. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  No one else was hurt in the accident. The crash is still under investigation.
