One Person Dead After One Vehicle Crash in Taylor County

One person was killed in a one vehicle crash in Taylor County.
According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department, they arrived at the scene of a crash Saturday evening on County Highway M near Sailor Creek Road. A 20-year-old man, Hunter Reid of Medford was found unconscious near an overturned Mini Cooper. Two other people were able to get out of the vehicle.
Reid was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. The initial investigation by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department indicates the driver was going west on Highway M at speeds of nearly 100mph when they came to a curve and failed to negotiate the curve before crashing into the ditch.
Reid was wearing his seatbelt, but still died from his injuries. The driver and the other passenger were also taken to the hospital for their injuries and released.
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the accident, but speed and negligent driving were. Charges are expected against the driver of the vehicle.
