Additional Stimulus Funding for Wisconsin's Ag Sector and Farms

Thursday, August 19th, 2021 -- 8:07 AM

(Bob Hague, WRN) Governor Tony Evers has announced additional federal coronavirus stimulus funding will be allocated to farmers and the agriculture industry.

The 50 million dollars follows 50 million distributed in May 2020 through the Wisconsin Farm Support Program. The money comes from American Rescue Plan Act dollars allocated to Wisconsin, which Evers has sole discretion over.

The funds will be administered through DATCP and the state Department of Revenue, with applications expected to open following the fall harvest. Evers has announced overall planned allocations of more than 4-point-5 billion in federal coronavirus money provided Wisconsin from federal stimulus.
