Wisconsin Getting Ready to Take in Refugees From Afghanistan
Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 -- 10:00 AM
(Terry Bell, WRN) Wisconsin is getting ready to take in refugees from Afghanistan.
No one is saying how many refugees are on their way to Wisconsin, or how long they’ll stay. Fort McCoy is preparing to receive an unknown number of people.
A spokeswoman says at first, refugees will stay in barracks usually reserved for active-duty troops. Resettlement agencies say once the refugees arrive, it will be their job to help find them new homes.
