Final Phase of Marshfield Paving Project Starts Tomorrow

On Thursday, August 19th and Friday, August 20th the following lanes will be closed to allow American Asphalt to pave the final phase of the W. McMillan St. overlay project in the City of Marshfield.

The south side lane of W. McMillan St. between Fig Ave. and Central Ave. will be paved Thursday, August 19th. The north side lane of W. McMillan St. between Fig Ave. and Central Ave. will be paved Friday, August 20, 2021.

The south side lane of W. McMillan will be closed on Thursday at 6 a.m. along with access from Fig Ave. and Chestnut Ave. to allow American Asphalt to pave the final phase of the overlay project.

After the pavement is complete, this lane will remain closed until the pavement temperature has cooled enough to not damage the surface of the new street.

Traffic control will then be switched over to allow American Asphalt to pave the north lane on Friday starting at 6 a.m. and Fig Ave and Chestnut Ave will reopen for east bound traffic only.

Residents living on the north side of W. McMillan St. should plan to have their vehicles out on Thursday evening if they plan on using them during the paving process. Pavement marking, and painting will follow with anticipated completion date of Tuesday, August 24.

This schedule will change if unfavorable weather conditions or other unforeseen issues arise. Please follow the detour route for west bound traffic and/or find alternative routes during this time.
