Columbus Man Sentenced For Shooting an Elk

A Columbus man has been sentenced for shooting an elk during the 2018 gun deer season.
According to the DNR, during the 2018 gun deer season, Jesse Hafenstein shot and killed an elk that was wearing a tracking collar. Hafenstein was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, unlawful hunting of an elk.
He lost his DNR on privileges and pay over $6,200 in restitution, fines, and costs.
