City of Marshfield to Manage Green Space of Pecan Parkway
Thursday, August 12th, 2021 -- 10:00 AM
The City of Marshfield will begin managing a section of green space off of Pecan Parkway from E. 17th St. to E. 19th St.
The project goals are to control invasive species, enhance native species, and establish a walking trail system. This is a multi-year endeavor that first involves gaining control over the invasive species Buckthorn.
This will be accomplished through selective and non-selective control methods. Native trees will be planted to increase diversity and create a multi-age class forest.
In conjunction with these tasks, we will work with local community members to establish a trail system that will let people enjoy the natural area. For community members that have questions, they can reach out to the Forestry division at 715-486-2073.
Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
