(WRN, Raymond Neupert) -The head of Madison's Tenant Resource Center says applications have been pouring in as the CDC extends the eviction moratorium.
The head of Madison's Tenant Resource Center says applications have been pouring in as the CDC extends the eviction moratorium. Executive Director Robin Sereno tells WKOW's Capital City Sunday that it's been landlords and not tenants who've been calling them.
"Large large increase in landlord applications so our assumption with this is landlords understand this moratorium has been extended and rent is due."
Sereno tells WKOW's Capital City Sunday that they're working under the assumption that legal challenges are coming, so they're trying to get assistance out to people as quickly as possible.
"Day by day we're monitoring it very closely so that we can get the most up to date information out to our community, whether those be landlords or tenants."
Sereno says most of their recent calls have been from landlords trying to claim rental assistance. Tenants who are in need of help can contact local service agencies through the 2 1 1 helpline.
