NEILLSVILLE BOARD TABLES ACTION ON FEASIBILITY STUDY
Tuesday, December 13th, 2005 -- 11:36 AM
It?s still unclear if Neillsville will be part of a consolidation feasibility study with Greenwood after the issue was tabled Monday night.During a recent joint meeting, the Greenwood Board requested Neillsville?s board discuss the study and tell them if they wanted to be a part of it. It?s estimated such a study would cost between $15,000 and $20,000 per school.
Greenwood and Loyal have already agreed to do a study, but details are still being worked out. It is believed Loyal?s board would not want to be part of anything but a two-school study.
Neillsville School Board President Walter Wetzel says the issue was tabled last night because the board wants to get more input from the public. Wetzel says the January 9th school board meeting will be billed as a public meeting. He wants Neillsville district residents to show up and voice their opinion on consolidation and the prospect of being part of a consolidation feasibility study with Greenwood.
