Governor Evers Use Radio Address to Encourage Vaccination
Friday, August 6th, 2021 -- 11:00 AM
(Bob Hague, WRN) Governor Tony Evers uses his weekly radio address to continue urging Wisconsinites to get vaccinated for COVID-19.
"If you've already gotten your shot, please talk to your family members, your friends and your neighbors about why you got the COVID-19 vaccine. And if you still need to get the vaccine, talk to your family doctor about getting the vaccine, or visit vaccine-dot-gov, and find a shot near you. If we keep working together and doing our part to beat COVID-19, we can put this pandemic behind us, once and for all."
Evers' request comes amid a steady rise in the 7 day average of new cases. That number, which had dropped to 69 as recently as July 21, reached 1,000 as of Thursday. That's the highest 7 day average reported by the state Department of Health Services since early February.
