Wisconsin Bankers Optimistic About the Economy
Thursday, August 5th, 2021 -- 8:05 AM
(Bill Wise, WRN) Wisconsin bankers are more optimistic about the economy than they were six months ago.
A Wisconsin Bankers Association survey finds about three-fourths of the bank C-E-Os participating rate the current economy as “good,” while 15 percent said it is “excellent.” The survey is taken twice a year.
At the end of 2020, 58 percent rated the economy “fair,” 38 percent “good,” and just three percent called it “excellent.” Some of the C-E-Os surveyed believe the increase in demand for goods and services will drive the economy as the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
About half expect the economy to grow over the next six months.
