Wisconsin DNR Sets Wolf Quota for Next Hunt
Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 -- 8:04 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is proposing a statewide quota of just 130 animals when it holds its next wolf harvest season in November.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, that's after the agency put an early stop to the last hunt in February 2021 when hunters and trappers exceeded the department's limit by nearly double.
Members of the Natural Resources Board will take up the issue during its August 11 meeting in Milwaukee. Wildlife experts estimate Wisconsin's gray wolf population to be slightly over 1,100 animals. The wolf hunt is slated to begin on November 6.
