Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 -- 3:01 PM
A Hixton teen charged with mistreatment of animals entered a plea in Jackson County Court.
According to court records, Cody Hagen-Anderson and Nicholas Kulig, from Blair, along with another teen recorded themselves throwing a possum around by its tail and pouring beer down its throat.
Eventually, they dropped weights on it and decapitated the animal. Kulig pleaded guilty to mistreatment of animals. A deal was reached and as long as Kulig completes 100 hours of community service, as well as some other items, the charge will be dropped to a misdemeanor with no other penalty.
Hagen-Anderson had the charges against him dismissed on the prosecutor’s motion as he was simply a party to the crime.
