Many Wisconsin Residents May Soon Be Evicted

(Terry Bell, WRN) Many people in Wisconsin may soon find themselves evicted.

The federal government’s nearly year-long ban on evictions ended Sunday. Milwaukee County judge William Pocan says it could take a few weeks or a month, but that he expects eviction filings to come pouring in. There are millions of dollars available for rent assistance, but not everyone applied.

And many who did apply filled out their forms incorrectly or incompletely. Advocates say as many as 160-thousand people across Wisconsin face eviction.
