Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Two Calls

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to two fires, one Monday night and one Tuesday morning.
According to the Department, they received a call of a transformer on fire around 10:36pm Monday night. The transformer was on a pole between the Dollar General and Marathon Gas Station on Division Street.
They secured the area and Xcel Energy responded to take care of the incident. They were on scene for 45 minutes, had no injuries on their part, and received assistance from the Neillsville Police Department.
The Department then responded to a report of a tree fire due to a lightning strike this morning around 7:29pm at W5398 Sherwood Road in the Town of Levis. The department responded, but were unable to find the tree after searching for half an hour.
