Neillsville Fire Department Called To Car Fire

The Neillsville Volunteer fire department was called out just after 8 am on Thursday morning to a car fire on E. 5th St. between State and Court streets. 

Maintainence people from the Clark County Courthouse use extinguishers and had the fire pretty well extinguished by the time the department arrived.  Chief Matt Meyer said the department remained on the scene for about a half hour. 

The fire was contained to the engine compartment but the vehicle was a total loss. Meyer said he is unsure of the cause for the fire.
