DNR Issues Air Quality Advisory for Wisconsin
Wednesday, July 21st, 2021 -- 1:01 PM
(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Smoke and particulates from wildfires have led to an Air Quality Advisory for all of Wisconsin.
The Department of Natural Resources issued the statewide advisory Tuesday, in effect until midnight Wednesday. The DNR says that air quality index values are Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups.
That includes children, the elderly, individuals with health risks such as respiratory and cardiac problems, and those working or exercising strenuously outdoors for an extended period.
According to the DNR, fine particles from wildfires in Canada are the reason for the increase in air pollution, triggering the advisory.
