Marshfield Insurance's "Fore Roger" fundraiser took place on July 14th with more than 40 teams joining to fundraise for Alzheimer's research.
The 4th annual event raised $26,317, for a total of more than $80,000 raised since the event started. Fore Roger is held in honor of Marshfield Insurance founder Roger Arnoldy, who passed away in 2012 from Lewy Body Dementia.
His son Nick now carries on the Marshfield Insurance legacy as President and CEO. Alzheimer’s disease affects an estimated 5.7 million Americans and is the 6th leading cause of death among all adults, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Proceeds from Marshfield Insurance's annual "Fore Roger" event go towards a Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation fund to assist families affected with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, provide capital for research, and help purchase medical supplies.
At various holes, golfers had the option to donate & enter into exclusive raffles and events. Two-time Rose Bowl champ and former All-Big Ten offensive lineman for the Wisconsin Badgers, Bill Ferrario was again in attendance.
Also joining was 1999 Heisman Trophy winner and Big Ten Player of the Year, Ron Dayne. After the golf event, golfers and friends were invited to Hotel Marshfield for live music from nationally-acclaimed blues rock band Jocelyn & Chris Arndt and a silent auction event.
