Hixton Teen Charged With Animal Mistreatment Has Charges Dropped

A Hixton teen charged with mistreatment of animals had the charges against him dismissed in Jackson County Court.

According to court records, Cody Hagen-Anderson and Nicholas Kulig, from Blair, along with another teen recorded themselves throwing a possum around by its tail and pouring beer down its throat.  Eventually, they dropped weights on it and decapitated the animal.

Hagen-Anderson had the charges against him dismissed on the prosecutor’s motion as he was simply a party to the crime. Kulig is scheduled for a plea/sentencing hearing on August 2nd.
