Wisconsin Will Get Share of National Opioid Settlement

(Terry Bell, WRN) Wisconsin will get its share of the national opioid settlement.
Despite expressing misgivings, Governor Evers signed legislation allocating 70-percent of Wisconsin's share of the 26 billion-dollar settlement to counties.
Evers says local municipalities will benefit as well. "I anticipate that they're going to be very thoughtful in how that money is used across the counties, and helping out those municipalities that weren't part of the lawsuit."
30-percent of Wisconsin's proceeds will go to the Department of Health Services. The legislature's budget committee will have oversight over that money.
