The blaze broke out shortly after noon yesterday at the Parkwood Apartment building at 703 West 17th Street.According to the Marshfield Fire-and-Rescue Department, the fire started in the bedroom of one of the apartments. The cause remains under investigation. One person was transported from the scene to the Marshfield Medical Center Emergency Department. There was significant damage to the apartment, including the roof structure in that area of the complex.
The attic area of the entire building was also impacted, and there was moderate smoke and water damage to adjacent apartments.
