Neillsville City Council Approves Sewer Rate Increase

-The Neillsville City Council approved a sewer rate increase at their meeting on Tuesday.There were no appearances during the public hearing regarding the rate increase during the Public Works portion of the meeting. The council approved a 7% rate increase across the board. For the category A sewer service charge, the fixed quarterly charge will go from $10.82 to $11.58. The volume charge will go from $8.66 to $9.27. For the category b sewer service charge, the fixed quarterly charge will also go from $10.82 to $11.58 and the volume charge will also go from $8.66 to $9.27. The surcharge for BOD per pound will go from $1.61 to $1.72; the surcharge for suspended solids per pound will go from $1.04 to $1.11; and phosphorus per pound will go from $14.58 to $15.60.
For hauler charges, it will go from $25 per trip from $26.75, the holding tank charge will go from $10.25 to $10.97, and the septic tank charge for volume charge will go from $69.57 to $74.44. Finally, for the unmetered general sewer service’s flat rate will go from $97.44 to $104.26. The billing for the new rate will begin after December 1st.
