Former Marshfield Nurse Sentenced for Stealing Medications

-A former nurse at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield was sentenced in Wood County Court for allegedly stealing medication from patients.According to court records, Casey Carpenter took at least eight tablets of Oxycodone from patients back in May of 2018. A urine test proved that Carpenter had taken the pills. She told authorities that she had been experiencing back pain and no longer had a prescription for medication. Carpenter pleaded guilty to possession of amphetamine and theft of movable property.
Another charge was dismissed and read in. She was sentenced to 2 years of probation and an imposed and stayed sentence of 60 days in jail, meaning if she fails at her probation, she’ll have to serve that time.
